Boating at Smith Mountain Lake

If you've never been to Smith Mountain Lake (or even if you have), you DEFINITELY owe it to yourself to get out on the water! There is a breathtaking beauty about that lake that can only be fully appreciated while on a boat or personal watercraft. When out on the lake by boat, many first-time visitors are quickly astonished by how beautiful and large Smith Mountain Lake really is.

There are several places at Smith Mountain Lakes where you can rent boats and personal watercraft: power boats, pontoon boats, deck boats, ski boats, fishing boats, house boats, and PWCs (Jet Skis, Seadoos, and WaveRunners). Many also sell marine gas and rent kayaks, paddle boards, inner-tubes, skis, wake boards, knee boards, and more.

Smith Mountain Lake Marinas

Once on the water, you'll want to know where the marinas are. ALL selected marinas shown have: 1) public restrooms, 2) gas pumps to fill up your boat. The vast majority also have food available, some that's really great! (Tip: check out Los Amigos at Crazy Horse Marina).

Smith Mountain Lake Boat Ramps

There are several public boat ramps located throughout the lake. Other available boat ramps can be found at various marinas (see above), but may incur a small fee to launch. You should have no trouble being able to launch your boat quickly at any of the ramps, but if you need any help, the locals here are very friendly!
